SC overturns lifetime disqualification of PML-N leader Siddique Baloch By Utv Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday ordered re-election in NA-154 Lodhran, partially restoring the Election Tribunal's (ET) original verdict as the apex court also overturned the lifetime disqualification of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Siddique Baloch.

The SC on September 29 had suspended the ET’s verdict and halted by-elections in NA-154 Lodhran, which were scheduled for October 11.


ECP increases polling time for upcoming LG polls in Sindh, Punjab By Utv Pakaistan

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan has increased time duration to cast ballots for the upcoming Local Bodies elections in Sindh and Punjab.

According to ECP, the polling will begin at 7:30 AM and continue till 5:30 PM without any interruption. Now the time duration for balloting will be 10 hours instead of 9 hours.

The commission has also directed the election staff to arrive at their respective polling stations two hours prior to polling time.

The first phase of LG polls in Sindh and Punjab will begin on October 31.

Meanwhile, according to ECP the process of printing of ballot papers have also been completed.
