Lahore administration suggests venue change for PTI’s May 1 rallyLAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) officials on Friday rejected Lahore district administration’s proposition to change the venue of the rally on May 1, saying that party Chairman Imran Khan has already announced the schedule of the public gathering.
Imran Khan in his address on April 24 in Islamabad, had announced to hold the next rally at Lahore’s Charing Cross.
The officials from Lahore’s district administration met with a PTI delegation today. In the meeting, the administration officials proposed that the venue for the PTI rally should be changed owing to security reasons. The officials suggested Nasir Bagh, Samanabad Doongi ground, and Gaddafi Stadium as three other possible venues.
The administration clarified that the Lahore High Court has banned rallies and gatherings on Lahore’s Mall road.
