The paramilitary force had filed Rs500 million defamation suit against former provincial home minister and MQM leader Waseem Akhar for hurling baseless allegations at Rangers during an interview on a private TV channel on September 29, which had severely damaged the reputation of Rangers.
The notice, as per the PRO, was served under Section 8 of the Defamation Ordinance 2002.
The paramilitary, in the notice, asked MQM leader to furnish evidences or pay Rs. 500 million as damages.
The court served notice to Waseem Akhtar and summoned him on next hearing.
